Pepper Steak Stir-Fry

Capiscum + Steak = The perfect pair.

Serves 2

Ingredients
  • 225g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medim onion, sliced
  • 1 red capsicum, sliced
  • 1 green capsicum, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish
For the side
  • 2 cups of cooked rice

Method
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and capsicums. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
  6. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute.
  7. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir well to coat the beef and vegetables.
  8. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients.
  9. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  10. Remove from heat and let the stir-fry cool slightly.
  11. Divide portions evenly and serve on a bed of cooked rice, and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
